London-based trio Ivy Lab and Belgian born Alix Perez have been attracting and astounding electronic music fans for years throughout drum & bass and further afield with their distinctly infectious, future-facing production perspectives. After blazing separate trails through the electronic music world with pacemaking sound design, as Ivy Lab released their thunderous debut album 20/20 last November and Alix Perez recently collaborated with Eprom to form future bass supergroup Shades, the two forces have finally collided out of a shared enthusiasm for experimentations on the fringe of the drum & bass scene. The result: a 6-track collaborative EP like no other, entitled Arkestra, that boasts the ideal mixture of Ivy Lab and Alix Perez's signature styles to create a beautifully diverse release.
While Arkestra won't be released until February 26th through Critical Music, Ivy Lab and Perez decided to leak one of the EP's final tracks, "Stop It," which has already garnered huge reception from fans, as it has already accrued over 30K plays in one week's time. "Stop It" oozes sensual liquid drum & bass grooves with its pristine balance of inventive, new age sound and thumping old school inspired beats, resulting in a track with an undeniably cool attitude that does wonders in showcasing the creative potential of the ever-evolving drum & bass genre.
Grab Ivy Lab and Alix Perez's forthcoming collaborative EP, Arkestra on February 26th on digital and 2 x 12" Vinyl.
