Created and run by DJ Sashwat, American bass music record label Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz has assumed a very commendable, multi-faceted role within the dubstep community: to help both emerging and established producers push their sounds to the masses, and to assure the musical integrity of the genre itself by maintaining its reputation for high quality and original bass heavy sounds, thus propelling the culture down the right path. This is a vision that is clearly exemplified in each and every Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz release, proven through the presence of an extremely extensive, unique sounding musical catalog focusing on a wide range and distinct blend of bass heavy sub genres.
Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz's newest genre-defying release comes in the form of their 5th annual 4/20 Free EP (2016), the next installment to their now highly anticipated, "seasonal" release series. This year's compilation features 18 silky smooth, ambient bass tracks that set the mood right for this special holiday. And this time around, a plot twist has been added to the release, as NONE of the tracks are 140 BPM, as usually expected. With that in mind, Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz's 4/20 Free EP (2016) boasts a tasty feast of thoughtful, groovy sonic journeys from some of the label's best, like The Widdler, L-Wiz, Pushloop, Legend4ry, ENiGMA Dubz and Akcept, offering a refreshing alternative to the traditional vibe of the compilation series as well as a perfect backdrop for the day's festivities. Happy Holidaze :)
