Renowned in the underground scene as both a highly reputable dubstep label and brain rattling club night founded by Truth, Deep, Dark & Dangerous has hosted events since 2013 in bass hungry places around the globe like San Francisco, Denver and New Zealand. On Thursday, May 12th, it's finally Los Angeles's long awaited turn to revel in our first Deep, Dark & Dangerous event, in collaboration with Soundpieces. Held at the new Union Nightclub and boasting a 5-point Funktion One sound system, Deep, Dark & Dangerous's LA premiere, featuring Truth, Thelem and Mesck will harness enough bass heavy firepower to satiate LA's most ravenous dubstep fans.
Headlining the benchmark event is none other than New Zealand's globally acclaimed dubstep act Truth, who are triumphantly leading the underground pack with an abundant discography overflowing with emotionally hefty sonic architectural works and subwoofer rupturing basslines. On top of an extensive and genre-defining production resume, Truth has run the gamut when it comes to live DJ sets, as they have performed on several European tours, a massive South American tour, shows in Asia and countless shows across the USA, New Zealand and Australia. Additionally, the duo has earned the privilege of playing at distinguished club nights like DMZ in London, Club Love in New York, and on seminal radio stations such as BBC Radio One, Kiss Fm and Rinse FM.
UK's own Thelem expertly teeters the lines between dark dubstep, grime, hip-hop and future trap, never ceasing to deliver exciting variations of his unique, earthshaking production style known to set dance floors and speaker systems ablaze across the globe. Using his own distinct, experimental production style, which focuses on delivering expertly crafted bass frequencies, rhythmic variation and dark, minimal atmospheres resonating with heavy, low end power, Thelem stands out as an up-and-coming crowd favorite for his individuality and infectious progressive sound.
Opening up the night is Los Angeles resident Mesck, a thunderous budding force within the underground dubstep scene who has built a global following as he's continued to carve a niche in the 140 BPM spectrum. Mesck rose to international prominence with his debut on Distance's Chestplate imprint, becoming the first American producer to release on this genre defining label. With his signature growls, complex rhythmic structures and top notch skills behind the decks, Mesck possesses all the essential ingredients to properly set the mood for Deep, Dark & Dangerous's highly anticipated Los Angeles debut.
