Fresh off our thunderous Bay Area premiere with North American dubstep ambassador Joe Nice, Saule, Dubsworth, Oxóssi and Peter Lionheart from Inner Standing Sound, B-Side Bay Area is fast approaching its second ever NorCal event featuring Bristol's own Joker. Named "2009 king of bass music" by XLR8R Magazine, the pioneer of purple sound has been making waves within the underground scene for over a decade now with his groundbreaking bass music productions. After first making his mark in the grime and dubstep arenas, Joker made a crucial move into a more expansive sonic palette; one that showcases his now idiosyncratic style laced with lurching percussion, vivid melodies and earth shattering bass lines that convey a thick, crispy sound fused with an energetic rush. With his one-of-a-kind sound, Joker stands as an irreplaceable staple within the underground bass scene, as he's contributed two productions to the iconic, London-based record company Hyperdub, has been featured on Jakes' H.E.N.C.H. label and founded of his very own imprint, Kapsize Recordings.
Joining Joker on the B-Side Bay Area stage on Saturday, August 20th will be Geno Cochino, NEBAKANEZA and B-Side Los Angeles Resident, Indica, with sound provided by Society Sound. Vendors, a jungle juice bar for 21+ attendees and a dab bar will be provided at this event through a cash only ticketing system. B-Side Bay Area Presents Eyes Down is an intimate, underground event located in West Oakland.
