G Jones, a go-to artist for many of today's young beat culture enthusiasts, just unleashed the newest addition to his extensive catalogue of free releases: a VIP of 2015's "Lavender Town." Originally released on his largest EP to date, the 11-track That Odd EP In the Pit of my Hard Drive, "Lavender Town" proved to be a fan favorite within the collection for its analog inspired, 8bit-laced melody, thumping basslines and unforgiving, NorCal attitude. Upon revisiting "Lavender Town," G Jones managed to preserve the integrity of the primary characteristics that lent to the tune's initial success, while adding in some new, energetic twists and turns, like aggressive distortions, speaker-panning sonic assaults, and a tastefully placed arsenal of swaggy glitches and pops. With a seemingly unquenchable thirst for personal improvement and an impressively rapid, yet consistent, musical output paving the way, G Jones has demonstrated yet again that his already highly influential style remains a force to be reckoned with within the bass music scene.
