On September 23rd and 24th, B-Side will be making its way along California's coast to proudly host two stops on Kaiju's Seven Sins album tour, commemorating the duo's debut release with legendary dubstep label, DEEP MEDi. Curating underground shows in both Oakland and Los Angeles, B-Side will be delivering a stacked roster of raw, bass heavy talent to perform alongside Kaiju, including Thelem, Mesck and B-Side resident, Dubwol.
Despite being a fairly new addition to the underground bass music circuit, Kaiju has rapidly become one of dubstep's highest sought-after and well respected acts for their impeccable execution of staggeringly filthy sound design. During their short time in the limelight, Kaiju has already won "Best New Producers" at the 2013 DSF awards, been signed exclusively to DEEP MEDi and has garnered support from the likes of scene legends such as Mary Anne Hobbs, Mala, Vivek, Youngsta, J:Kenzo, Biome, Distance and Truth; a monumental feat for the budding duo that proves the sheer impact and importance of their sound. And as creators of some of the most in-demand and heavily guarded dubplates in underground music today, this month's performances are bound to include a healthy dose of exclusives and never-before-heard, sound system heaters.
Joining B-Side's Seven Sins tour stops is UK's own Thelem, known throughout the bass music circuit for his unique sound that expertly teeters the lines between dark dubstep, grime, hip-hop and future trap; a style known to set dance floors and speaker systems ablaze across the globe. Using his own distinct, experimental production style, which focuses on delivering expertly crafted bass frequencies, rhythmic variation and dark, minimal atmospheres resonating with heavy, low end power, Thelem stands out as a crowd favorite for his individuality and infectious progressive sound. Playing alongside Thelem is Los Angeles resident Mesck, a thunderous budding force within underground dubstep who has built a global following as he's continued to carve a niche in the 140 BPM spectrum. Mesck rose to international prominence with his debut on Distance's Chestplate imprint, becoming the first American producer to release on this genre defining label. Making his B-Side debut, resident Dubwol has been rattling the underground dubstep scene in his own right since first surfacing in Colorado's deeply nurtured bass music culture back in 2008. By integrating musical stylings from all over the electronic spectrum, from drum & bass and grime to wonk and bassline house, this Sub.mission and B-Side resident DJ has managed to cultivate a unique sound that pushes the boundaries of modern day bass music.
