The B-Side Los Angeles family is gearing up for our biggest event of the year on Saturday, April 8th and LA's Union nightclub. Around this time last year, B-Side played host to a legendary roster of some of bass music's finest, namely Mala, Gorgon Sound + Kahn & Neek and Om Unit. It's that time of year again, and B-Side is poised to once again deliver mighty proper underground vibes at Union's Disco Room with historic UK names in the scene: dBridge, Youngsta and V.I.V.E.K, not to mention Sepia, Tetrad and Sava (formerly known as Indica) and a secret guest headliner. To supplement the night's festivities, we will be bringing vendors Executive League, Drumz, Lurp Creations & Blissedblessings and A Bead in Need, as well as live art from Eyemax3d, Noelle Botello, Becky Steele and Knawledge. Not to mention, Get Heavy will be hosting the second stage at the Loft Room that same night for all the heavy dubstep fans.
Coming correct with the first of many earthshaking sets will be a b2b set featuring the only artists representing the States that night, B-Side residents Tetrad and Sava. Next to grace the B-Side stage is Bristol up-and-comer, Sepia, who is known best for keenly melting a fusion of multiple genres and styles to concoct his own signature sound. Sepia has been turning heads recently with eclectic sets laced with all original productions as well as various releases on Joe Nice's Gourmet Beats, Infernal Sounds, White Peach, Transient Audio, Truth's Deep Dark and Dangerous and Well Rounded. This budding artist is one to keep a close eye on in today's fruitful scene.
Our next UK-based act is none other than V.I.V.E.K, who will be making his first LA appearance in over four years that night. Owner of the System Music record label and curator of dubstep/bass music event, System, V.I.V.E.K has become a well established staple for many fans within the underground scene; an artist who has undeniably helped evolve the genre into what it is today. With a number of releases on Deep Medi, On The Edge and his own imprint, System Music, V.I.V.E.K is guaranteed to set the B-Side stage ablaze with his selections.
We have the pleasure of hosting one of the more durable figureheads of the dubstep scene since its conception, Youngsta, who stands as one of the scene's most faithful soldiers. As resident of legendary, scene-defining club night FWD>>, one of the first DJs who was heard playing some of the genre's most-loved anthems, and current host of his widely popular Rinse.fm radio show, Youngsta continues to solidify his stance as a hugely active figure in dubstep's development and growth and we cannot wait to hear what he has in store for us.
Lastly, Drum n Bass legend dBridge will take to the stage to close out a night of epic musical proportions. This legend's career has stretched from the early days of the genre's conception back in the early 1990s. dBridge was originally part of the duo Future Forces Inc., a project made with fellow artist DJ Maldini. Later, they would join Fresh and Vegas to form the drum and bass super-group Bad Company, which dBridge was a member of during the late 1990s and early 2000s. As an artist who has undertaken a multitude of transformations and evolutions, dBridge has witnessed an impressive amount of achievements in his extensive career and will gracefully string together his diverse influences while performing for us.
